Heavy Rain Pummels South Carolina Island as Hurricane Ian Nears Landfall
Hurricane Ian was forecast to make landfall in South Carolina as a Category 1 hurricane on Friday, September 30, bringing a life-threatening storm surge, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) warned.
Twitter user @crispyicculus said this footage was taken from his home on James Island on Friday.
Ian had made landfall as a Category 4 storm in southwest Florida before weakening as it headed eastward across the state. It restrengthened to a hurricane on Thursday and was accelerating as it took aim at the South Carolina coast, the NHC said. Credit: @crispyicculus via Storyful
