Portions of southern Alabama were severely flooded on October 6, after more than nine inches of rain fell over the last two days, according to reports.
The National Weather Service placed much of the region under a flash flood watch until Thursday morning, reporting that “any rainfall” could result in significant flooding in the area, due to already saturated soil. An additional 1 to 3 inches of rain with “isolated higher totals” could be possible in areas already affected by storms.
