More than 100 roads were closed in southeast Missouri on Saturday, April 29, after significant rain triggered flooding that washed away some roads and bridges.
Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens declared a state of emergency in response to the flash flooding. Residents in hard hit areas were evacuated, and the American Red Cross opened shelters.
Flash flood warnings continued on Sunday.
