Delays expected following crash on A59

UPDATE: Traffic is now flowing freely again.

A crash on the A59 has caused traffic to build in the area with delays expected.

Lancashire Police are in attendance outside Huntleys Farm, Whalley Road, Samlesbury, and confirmed there had been no casualties in the incident.

However, when asked for further details about the crash, Lancashire Police declined to comment.

The crash happened at around 12.45pm and looks to have involved a small Vauxhall hatchback and what appeared to be a white Mazda.

Both vehicles are thought to have suffered damage with debris seen on the road, with the Mazda's rear-end visibly damaged.

The incident caused long queues in both directions on the A59 Whalley Road around Huntleys as police blocked traffic to allow the damaged vehicles and debris to be cleared.
