'Heavy traffic' after Queens Drive closes following crash

Queens Drive was partially closed after a crash.

Emergency services were called to part of the main road in Walton following a crash at around 10am on Tuesday, June 11. Queens Drive eastbound was closed from Utting Avenue to Richard Kelly Drive.

The crash involved a Ford Puma and a Hyundai Tucson. Both drivers stopped at the scene and the ECHO understands one man suffered minor injuries.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson confirmed Utting Avenue traffic can flow east and west but cannot turn southbound onto Queens Drive. Vehicles travelling northbound on Queens Drive are being diverted onto Richard Kelly Drive.

Traffic management system Inrix also reported there being "heavy traffic" in the area following the crash. Arriva North West said services 60, 81 and 81a were being diverted via Queens Drive, Townsend Avenue, Strawberry Road, Walton Hall Avenue and back to Queens Drive in both directions.
