Heidi Range’s Father To Stand Trial Accused Of Double Stabbing

Heidi Range’s Dad Paul is to stand trial after having been accused of a double stabbing in a Liverpool park.

The former Sugababes singer’s 56-year-old father is alleged to have wounded two men with a knife on September 25 last year.

He is also accused of injuring a third man after an altercation behind some shops which ended with the man allegedly being punched in the face.

“Merseyside Police can confirm a 56-year-old man has been charged with two counts of Section 18 wounding and one count of Section 47 assault following an incident in Formby on Friday (25 September),“ a police spokesperson said at the time of his arrest.

Paul appeared via video link in court this morning and friends and fmily watched from the public gallery and spoke only to confirm his personal details and plead not guilty to all six counts.

Heidi, 32, has in the past spoken out her strained relationship with her Dad, saying they didn’t have any contact for years after he and Heidi’s mum divorced when the singer was 8.

However, the pair eventually got back in touch after Paul discovered he was suffering with his health.

“A couple of years ago my dad had a brain tumour, but luckily we’d made contact just before that,” Heidi revealed recently.

The trial is due to take place at Liverpool Crown Court on March 22.
