Helen Flanagan makes hilarious Celebs Go Dating error
Celebs Go Dating spoilers follow.
Tonight's (August 19) episode of Celebs Go Dating saw Helen Flanagan make a hilarious error.
The dating show's 13th season debuted with a Bridgerton-inspired masked ball, which saw the latest batch of famous faces mingle with a group of singles for the first time.
"The reason for the mask is that we want you to get to know the delicious mind that lies behind it. We want you to tap untapped reservoirs and not just skim the surface," explained client coordinator Tom Read Wilson.

Under the watchful eye of experts Paul C Brunson, Anna Williamson and Dr Tara, Helen and her co-stars – Gogglebox's Stephen Webb, MAFS star Ella Morgan, Love Island's Chris Taylor, Hollyoaks star Jamelia and Made in Chelsea's Tristan Phipps – began flirting their way through the ballroom.
Helen soon began chatting to a man named Ross and asked if he was also a parent, before he quickly shut down the conversation by revealing he was gay.
"You're gay? Oh, I thought that you were straight, I was trying to chat you up," laughed Helen after realising her mistake. "These masks are throwing off my gaydar, I'm so bad at this!"
Viewers quickly took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their reactions to Helen's blunder, with one writing: "Chatting up the older gay man is a classic," alongside a laughing emoji.

"Helen accidentally flirting with a gay man," another added, while a third said: "Ella and Helen telling their life stories at the 1st meeting. These 2 will be comedy gold."
As Helen continued to work her way round the room, expert Anna noted that the star's dating game was "rusty".
"We want our celebrities to look beyond the mask and try and find some sort of genuine connection. However, Helen just seems to be coming out with banal chat and there's a hell of a lot of oversharing going on," she added.
At the end of the episode, the celebrities were asked to choose one single to take on a date, with Helen and Ella both picking Luke. Who will he choose?
