Call The Midwife star Helen George has recently treated fans of the hit BBC show to a sneak peek behind the scenes of series ten filming, sharing a snap of herself in character as Nurse Trixie.

While the actor's clearly enjoying the fact filming has resumed on Call The Midwife, she's also used her social media to give fans a glimpse into some all-important family time.

Helen can more often be found posting pictures from set, or of her daughter, but she's posted a rare - and very lovely - selfie with her partner Jack Ashton.

"First and second in command. #familytime," she captioned the sweet snap of the couple smiling for the camera.

Jack previously starred in Call The Midwife as Rev. Tom Hereward, but left the show after the death of his on-screen wife Nurse Barbara (Charlotte Ritchie).

Tom and Helen met while filming the midwifery drama back in 2016 and began dating. In September 2017, they welcomed a daughter named Wren Ivy.

Helen often gives her followers a look into family life with Wren, having recently shared some snaps of the family enjoying summer together.

Meanwhile, filming is underway on Call The Midwife series 10.

In a statement, the show revealed some details about the upcoming Christmas special:

"It is December 1965. Everyone at Nonnatus House is looking forward to traditional celebrations with all the trimmings, but nothing goes quite to plan. Sister Monica Joan is rushed to hospital and Trixie is incensed to receive a subscription to a Marriage Bureau as a Christmas gift. Meanwhile, a surprise reunion for Shelagh involves her in a deeply moving birth, and the Circus arrives in Poplar, bringing new friendships, new experiences, and an exciting adventure for Nurse Crane…."

We can't wait to see Helen and the rest of the cast in action when the show returns to our screens.

Call The Midwife airs on BBC One.
