Helen Skelton and Dan Walker have lifted the lid on the secret behind their sparkling on-screen rapport and what they get up to during their strolls together.

Best known for her stints on Countryfile and Blue Peter, Helen has teamed up with ex-BBC Breakfast anchor Dan for Channel 5's new travel show, 'Yorkshire Great and Small with Dan and Helen'.

The duo seems to be getting along famously, with Dan suggesting their bond might stem from being quite "similar". Helen hasn't held back on the praise for her fellow presenter either, claiming they've "never had a bad word".

Chatting to TV Times, Dan said: "We're similar and we care about each other. But we laugh at each other, too, and, on our walks, we ask silly questions and list things like our top 10 Helens, from Helen Hunt to Helen of Troy. Helen Skelton was No 7!"

Helen quipped: "I didn't even make the top five! We've been fitting this around our other commitments like Dan's Classic FM show and my time on (BBC1's) Morning Live, so we've had little sleep, but we've never had a bad word," reports the Express.

She added: "Dan is the clever one and knows all the historical references and sings a lot, but we both bring morale, jokes and banter."

Excitement is building as a teaser trailer for the series was released this week, showcasing Helen declaring they've returned to "God's own country" to discover "glorious" Yorkshire, while Dan is seen donning a padded outfit and yellow wellies.

Dan, who's also known for his twirls on Strictly Come Dancing, couldn't resist showing off his outfit with a few lunges, while Helen playfully called her co-host a "sight for sore eyes".

The dynamic duo are set to tour the scenic delights of Yorkshire, taking in the splendour of the Western Dales and the North York Moors. In the preview, Helen can't hide her awe, exclaiming that the views are "genuinely breathtaking".

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Dan shared a sneak peek of their adventures with some candid snaps from the filming of their new Channel 5 series, rounding off the trailer with the quip: "It's not bad, Yorkshire, is it?"

Back in July, viewers were charmed by the pair as they journeyed across the Pennines in their previous travelogue, Dan and Helen's Pennine Adventure.

Kicking off the year, they sparked excitement for their upcoming project with a snapshot of them in roller skates, prompting Dan to post: "Not sure what to say. Good morning. Coming to a screen near you later this year."
