Helen Skelton has said a poignant "goodbye" to a significant chapter of her life as she shared a touching update with fans on social media.

The BBC Morning Live presenter and former Strictly Come Dancing star revealed on Instagram that she was selling the home that she shared with ex-husband Richie Myler, following her split from the rugby player in April 2022. Sharing a video of a fox in the garden, mum-of-three Helen explained that she was "saying bye to the house", adding in the caption: "One last goodbye old friend".

The clip appears to have been filmed at Helen and Richie's eight-bedroom marital home in Yorkshire, which was purchased by the couple back in 2020 and was reportedly put on the market following their split two years later. Last year, the presenter confessed that renovating the property may have caused her to "miss signs" that her marriage was on a rocky road, The Express reports.

The Countryfile star candidly opened up in her autobiography, In My Stride, about how she felt in the few weeks following the breakdown of her marriage. Helen recalled in her book: "I was in shock. I know that following break-ups, people often say they didn't see it coming and it sounds like a cliché, but that was me."

The 40-year-old star also admitted that she "still has questions" over the split, but explained that she wanted Richie to remain a part of her life for the sake of their children Helen told fans via an Instagram post that she and Richie were no longer together in April 2022 and that he had "left the family home", just four months after they had welcomed their third child together.

Helen announced earlier this month that she would be enjoying a "little holiday" as Morning Live takes a break over the next few weeks, returning to screens on Monday June 10. Another Instagram snap from last weekend saw the star enjoying a sun-soaked paddle boarding session in the Lake District with her son, in a well deserved break from her presenting duties.
