Emergency services were called into action near Minilya, Western Australia, on February 4, when a number of motorists had to be airlifted to safety following extreme flooding, according to local reports.
Footage from the scene was captured by Justin Borg of Coral Coast Helicopter Services. In the footage, small vehicles and trucks can be seen surrounded by water.
In a statement to Storyful, the company said Borg, their CEO, immediately went by helicopter to the region after receiving a call from a courier company with a driver stranded.
“During the tasking, Justin assisted a further two motorists whose vehicle had become completely inundated by water,” the company said. "It was later established that there were an additional 20 people in the vicinity needing extrication.
“Given our geographical location and resources, we feel that we have an obligation to assist the public wherever possible to prevent any injury or loss of life,” they said. Credit: Justin Borg via Storyful
