THE air ambulance has been called to a crash in Herefordshire after someone sustained potentially serious injuries.

A woman was taken from the scene of the accident at the B4521 which connects the A49 and A4137 to Hereford County Hospital. She had potentially serious injuries.

A man had also been injured in the crash, and was taken to hospital for minor injuries.

The air ambulance landed at the scene after being called to the incident on the B4521 at around 3.15pm today (May 28) but both patients were taken to hospital by land ambulance.

A spokesperson for the ambulance service said: "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of the B4521 and A4137 at St Owens Cross near Hereford at around 3.15pm. Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham were sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews discovered two cars and a van had been involved in a collision. There were two patients requiring treatment. A woman was treated by ambulance staff for potentially serious injuries whilst a man had suffered minor injuries. They were both conveyed via land ambulance to Hereford County Hospital."
