Here's the reason why Big Brother's new series launch might be DELAYED

Big Brother’s new series launch date has reportedly been thrown into chaos due to an unforeseen clash.

Prime Minister Theresa May recently announced there would be a General Election on Thursday June 8 this year – the same day that the civilian series of Big Brother was apparently expected to launch.

This clash means the reality series is likely to be pushed back, as news coverage of the election is projected to interfere with TV scheduling during this period of political uncertainty.

Not to worry though, as a similar setback occurred with the show in 2010 – when David Cameron and Nick Clegg formed a government – and you know what? We all survived.

While fans await official confirmation of the series launch date, Big Brother’s Bit On The Side host Rylan Clark-Neal recently revealed that he would like to replace Emma Willis on the main show if she ever decided to step down.

“If Emma was to leave Big Brother for whatever reason then I probably would take that role because I love the show,” he told OK!, adding: “It’s a part of me that show. It changed my life.”

You have our vote, Rylan.

Big Brother will return to Channel 5 in the summer.
