The Orville, Seth MacFarlane's Star Trek-inspired sci-fi comedy drama, is moving broadcasters on both sides of the pond ahead of its third season, which is due to premiere next spring.

While you wait for new episodes, here's how you can catch up if you're in the mood for a rewatch...

Sign up for Disney+

A Disney+ subscription is priced at £7.99 per month, or £79.99 per year, and opens up access to an increasing library of films and TV shows including Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, National Geographic and a host of Disney classics.

There's also STAR, launched on the service earlier this year in the UK, which is home to numerous movies, plus TV series including The Walking Dead, Grey's Anatomy, black-ish, Love, Victor, American Horror Story, Modern Family, and MacFarlane's own American Dad!

If you'd prefer to download and keep episodes of The Orville, you've also got the option to do that via Amazon (and you don't need to have a Prime subscription). Individual episodes are priced at £2.49 in HD, and a whole season (12 episodes in season 1, 14 episode in season 2) is £14.99 in HD.

The Orville – how to watch in the US

The Orville's third season will premiere on Hulu in the US next March. Filming is complete, and we're expecting 11 episodes.

In the meantime, seasons 1 and 2 of the show are available to stream, also on Hulu. Pricing starts at $5.99 per month for an ad-supported plan (although this is going up to $6.99 per month on October 8), and from $13.99 per month for a Hulu, Disney+ and ESPN+ bundle with ads.

Sign up for Hulu

Note that "new and eligible returning subscribers" can take advantage of Hulu's free trial (something which Disney+ is not running at the moment). Hulu is only available in the US, and is not available internationally, including to UK customers, for rights reasons.

A limited time offer is also running on the Hulu (with ads) and Live TV package at the moment. Until October 28, if you're a new or "eligible returning subscriber" (defined for this promotion as someone who hasn't had Hulu for three months or more), you can pay $54.99 per month for the first three months, then $64.99 after that.

If you haven't taken a free trial of Hulu in the past 12 months, or are a completely new customer, then you can get 7 days for free to start with as well. More information is available here, and additional terms can be found here.

The Orville seasons 1 and 2 are also available to watch via Amazon in the US. A digital download of a single HD episode is priced at $2.99, and a full season in HD will cost $19.99 (for season 1) or $18.99 (for season 2).
