Traditionally, the cast of the MTV reality show will pretty much do anything for the cameras. But there must come a time when enough is enough, which probably explains why there are very few Geordie Shore originals left on the roster.
Here, we take a look at the circumstances that led to some of the biggest departures over the years.

One of the main cast members from the very beginning, Vicky always described herself as having a "VIP edge", whatever that means.
Much of her time on-screen centred around her rocky relationship with fellow cast member Ricci Guarnaccio, which started with his arrival in series two.
He proposed one season later in Mexico but Vicky called it all off by series five. He quit Geordie Shore once their relationship ended (birthing Ex on the Beach, more on that later), but Vicky stuck around until the end of series nine.
Years later, Vicky reflected on her decision to walk away from Geordie Shore. And, as it turns out, she just wanted to read.
The moment of realisation came during a filming day. She had settled down with a good book but, she claimed, someone soon came "running in" and "snatched it" from her.
She told the Daily Star in 2017, three years after she quit, that she'd been instructed that it was "not on-brand".
Vicky also added that she wanted to "grow up" and not have the more private aspects of her life, including rows and relationships, documented in front of the cameras.

As we covered earlier, Ricci's time on the show was basically all to do with his on/off romance with Vicky.
He has since claimed that he "didn’t really get to enjoy the experience" of the Geordie Shore house because of his relationship (via Heat).
Well, that's one way of facing up to a failed relationship...
Gary 'Gaz' Beadle

For a guy that said he "should have a degree in pulling women", it's hardly surprising that he built quite the reputation for his womanising ways.
In what's going to go down in reality television history as one of the most dramatic and problematic on-screen relationships of our time, Gaz set his sights on fellow original cast member Charlotte Crosby from the get-go.
What then played out over the years was an on/off romance that split viewers right down the middle. Some were rooting for them, even when they went their separate ways and dated other people, and others willed for them to call it quits once and for all.
Then came the tragic moment that Crosby suffered an ectopic pregnancy while Gary was away filming Ex on the Beach (and we're sure you don't need us to recap what he was up to). This led to her bailing out from Geordie Shore, but more on that later.
As for Gary, in 2017, while the cast and crew were filming for a new series, he went AWOL. While MTV refused to comment on his whereabouts, a little detective work from Digital Spy revealed that he was vacationing with his new girlfriend Emma McVey.
In August of that year, the pair announced that they were expecting their first baby together. This led his fellow Geordie Shore cast members to urge him to leave the show, and reports then surfaced that he'd be focusing on his new family instead of his reality TV appearances.
Gaz's final scenes aired as part of series 15 and he's now a proud dad.

In 2016, Charlotte Crosby announced her decision to quit the show because of Gary Beadle.
Unfortunately, to understand this in full, we do need to revisit that fateful aforementioned series of Ex on the Beach.
Rumours emerged that Gaz had slept with fellow reality star Jemma Lucy while filming for the series. Tragically, it was while he was away working on this project that Charlotte experienced an ectopic pregnancy. He has since spoken out about his regret.
Off the back of this news, Charlotte decided that she needed to distance herself from her ex and, therefore, the show.
"Sadly because a certain someone can't admit to being in the wrong and have to write a short story full of excuses, I have made the very hard decision to leave the show," she wrote at the time. "It's something I have went back and forth with for a while now. But I am willing to sacrifice that part of my career in order to be well away from a liar and a cheat."
They are both now in new and happy relationships, with those dramatic days firmly behind them.

A solid main cast member for 10 instalments, by 2015 James had decided that he'd outgrown the show.
"I've been trying to figure out what it might be that's changed but I'm starting to realise it's me," he said of his exit at the time.
He did make a brief cameo in a one-off special where, perhaps unsurprisingly, he said that he "got absolutely steaming".

After five years on the toon, Marnie declared her plan for a permanent exit – and it seemed that the bailers before her played a big part in that decision.
"For everyone [who keeps] asking, I have in fact permanently left Geordie Shore," she wrote on Twitter in early 2018.
"It was just time to move on. It just wasn't the same without everyone who left and I made the decision to leave. It was a wild five years, and I'm really thankful I got to do it!"

Unlike some of his former Geordie Shore cast members, Marty McKenna slipped out quietly.
The reality star only made a few brief appearances in series 15, and then never showed up for the following one.
Naturally, fans were quizzing him on his whereabouts, and Marty finally confirmed his exit on Twitter by saying that he was "not going back".

Kyle joined the show in 2014 and became known for his rocky relationship with co-star Holly Hagan.
One year later, he left the show for the first time. He told Heat that he'd decided to quit because the Geordie Shore house couldn't cope with the rows between himself and Holly. "I would never watch her walk out that door," Kyle said, hinting that one of them would have needed to leave.
He also revealed that one of his family members was terminally ill, and so he was putting them first. "I couldn’t leave my mum and dad and my brother, we’re a very close family," he said at the time.
Kyle returned briefly for the Big Birthday Battle, and stayed until the end of series 13 when he and Holly both left to be together.
We now know that this didn't work out for them, as they split for good in 2017.
After some to-ing and fro-ing, Holly returned to the Geordie Shore fold in 2019.

In 2017, Aaron hinted that his days on the show could be numbered when he said that he was "getting older" and wanted to pursue a career as a MMA fighter.
"Geordie Shore is my job, that's what has made us. But obviously I'm 30 now and I have a girlfriend, so maybe it's my time to step out of Geordie Shore and let somebody younger come in," he told the Daily Mail at that time.
"I've done what I need to do on there. You have to understand the show doesn't grow old, but we do.
"Six years ago it was fun, but we're getting older. The audience is getting younger and we're getting older."
Sure enough, his final Geordie Shore scenes aired in 2018.
