Hickory's bid for late-night Super Bowl 25 licence
Gridiron fans could descend on a popular Rhos-on-Sea bar for hot dogs and light beer when the biggest American Football game of the year takes place next month – if a temporary licensing application is granted. Hickory's Smokehouse on Llandudno Road has applied to Conwy County Council’s licensing department, seeking planning permission to extend its hours on Sunday 9 February and Monday 10 February.
The bar wants to remain open after 11pm on Sunday, closing at 5am on Monday morning. That’s because the American-themed bar and grill is hosting a Super Bowl night. Sign up for the North Wales Live newsletter sent twice daily to your inbox.
The big game takes place at the Caesars Superdome, the home stadium of the Saints, in New Orleans, Louisiana, which is six hours behind the UK. The Rhos-on-sea event, though, must be rubberstamped by Conwy’s licensing department.
