Buckland Park Lake, nestled between Reigate and Dorking, is a stunning 50-acre lagoon surrounded by beautiful countryside. With its crystal clear waters and sandy beach, it's the perfect spot for sunbathing and relaxation.

The lake offers a range of activities for visitors of all ages. Young children can enjoy the playground and paddling pool, while older kids can embark on a woodland adventure tour or try their hand at paddleboarding.

Water sports are facilitated by The Surrey Hills Adventure Company (The SHAC), offering classes for beginners as well as free paddling for those with more experience. A class costs £35 per person, which includes a two-hour parking ticket.

Private lessons are available for groups of two to four at a total cost of £140, while larger groups are charged £35 per person. Experienced paddleboarders can rent a board for a lagoon session at £20 each.

For those looking for a unique experience, paddleboard yoga sessions are also on offer. It's a fantastic way to meditate, stretch, and appreciate the natural surroundings while gently floating on the water. .

The activity is lauded as a fantastic way to build strength, balance and coordination while promoting mindfulness, peace and inner tranquillity. Each session costs £20, with the added bonus of a free sixth session after purchasing five.

What better way to round off an adventurous day of exploration and swimming than with some delicious food?

Positioned next to the water, adrenaline junkies will find the El Rocinante food truck serving up tantalising treats such as burgers and breakfast rolls, nachos, fries, kid-friendly meals, desserts and ice creams, as well as a range of hot and cold drinks. This hidden treasure typically operates during breakfast and lunch hours.

Visitors can also discover a delightful lakeside restaurant, The Reverie, offering panoramic views across the lake. Those with a keen eye for interior design are sure to be captivated by the stunning floor-to-ceiling windows, and there's even a patio out front for guests wishing to soak up the sun on a warm day.

The Reverie, known for its breakfast and lunch offerings, extends its service to include dinner on Fridays and Saturdays. A TripAdvisor user was charmed by the venue, sharing: "Felt like a Greek Island. Stopped by for a light lunch. Amazing setting. Good service. Nice food. Lovely outside seating.....inside looked equally nice. Can't wait to return to try the dinner menu."

Another diner was full of praise, remarking: "What an amazing meal. Fantastic service from booking to leaving. Delicious food, courses delivered with perfect timing, lovely wine. Staff even served a happy birthday dessert and the whole restaurant erupted into song, without any prompting from us! Thank you for a lovely evening, we will be back."

Throughout the year, The Reverie remains a popular spot, complete with a cosy log burner for those colder days. Access to the venue is available with a lake ticket or via reservation.

For those looking to save money for additional activities, such as paddleboarding, bringing your own picnic is also an option.
