High-Speed Chase in Queensland Ends With Suspect Flipping Vehicle

A man was arrested after leading police on a high-speed car chase through Mackay, Queensland, on January 21, which ended with the car flipping over and crashing into a fence.

Queensland Police received reports of a man slumped over the steering wheel of a maroon SUV on Maguire Street, in Andergrove. Footage released by the police shows an investigating officer at the vehicle. He breaks the driver’s side window when he gets no response.

The car then drives off, with police in pursuit.

A tire-deflation device was successfully deployed, but the driver continued to travel through the area at excessive speed. The chase came to an end when the SUV crashed into a truck and flipped over, police said.
