High speed police chase in Lanarkshire as two men and teenager arrested
Three arrests have been made this afternoon following a high-speed police chase in Lanarkshire.
Marked police cars were seen pursuing a vehicle through Bellshill which was carrying two young men and a teenager who later made off on foot.
It came after the car failed to stop for officers at around 12.15pm today (August 20) on the M8 Junction 1 westbound.
The car finally came to a halt in Locket Yett View in Bellshill before the driver and two passengers made off on foot however, were traced a short time later following a search which involved the help of Police Scotland's Air Support Unit.

Two young men aged 21 and 20 and a 17-year-old male have been arrested with police saying enquiries remain ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.15pm on Tuesday, 20 August, 2024, a car failed to stop for officers on the M8 junction 1 westbound.
“Following a pursuit the vehicle stopped in Locket Yett View in Bellshill.
“The driver and two passengers made off from the car and were traced a short time later following a search involving officers from the Air Support Unit.
“Two men aged 21 and 20 and a 17-year-old male have been arrested and enquiries are ongoing.”
