Highest, shortest, fastest, furthest - The incredible feats achieved on Guinness World Record Day

The highest bungee tea dunk, the shortest married couple and the most double-Dutch skips in a minute are just some of the records that were smashed on yesterday’s Guinness World Records Day 2016.

More than 600,000 people around the world attempted to grab a record and secure their place in the history books.

Paulo Gabriel da Silva Barros, 31, 90.28 cm in height, married Katyucia Hoshino, 28, 91.13 cm in height, making them the shortest ever married couple.

They said: “We are so happy to be a part of Guinness World Records Day and to have our unique record celebrated. We hope our new record will encourage the world to look past the physical differences in others and understand all people should be treated equally.”

Over in Australia a number of sports lovers broke multiple records, led by fitness guru Kayla Itsines.

Her class of 2217 people and achieved no less than five titles: the most people performing squats, the most people star jumping, the most people performing lunges, the most people performing sit-ups and the most people running in one place.
