The highlights from London Fashion Week AW18

From wacky trends to celebrity appearances and the most glamorous parties, London Fashion Week is always a time of fun and fabulousness.

From rainbow checks to models drinking on the runway, this year certainly didn't disappoint.

Make mine a vino

Fashion week darling Molly Goddard knows a thing or two about how modern party girls want to dress. She also knows what they want to drink.

At her latest show, models including Edie Campbell traded up from cheap fizz to a savour delicious glass of mid-catwalk claret. Cheers!

Ear’s looking at you, kid

Mulberry may already enjoy a reputation as one of Britain’s best manufacturers of delicious arm candy but Johnny Coca’s latest offering for the label also brought with it some seriously drool-worthy jewels.

Shout out to the sassy face earrings. *heart eye emoji*

Try before you buy

The Burberry collection may have been available for delivery 90 minutes after it hit the catwalk but for some that simply isn’t quick enough.

Adwoa Aboah, for one, was pictured in several looks during New York Fashion Week, days before they even appeared on the catwalk. How’s that for fast fashion?

Made in Chelsea

There was no shortage of celebrities at Saturday’s Burberry extravaganza — the f’row is always lined with famous faces, and this season’s hot list included the likes of Naomi Campbell, Matt Smith, Alexa Chung and Sienna Miller. Sitting among them, too, was the rather unexpected addition of Chelsea Clinton.

Bonnet lasses

Surprise contender for the Most Common Hat On The Catwalk award goes to the skullcap bonnet - a tight hooded head covering, often knitted, which fastened snugly under the chin.

Seen at Preen, Richard Malone and Matty Boven, who showed his first standalone collection this season.

Groovy girls

Corduroy reigned on the f’row — if we had a pound for every pair of salmon-coloured jumbo cords we spied we’d be RICH! — but top of our wish list is H&M’s toffee flared trouser suit and Zara’s lemon yellow two-piece, seen here on the lovely Laura Jackson.

Do the twist

There aren’t many backstage beauty looks we would advise recreating IRL but the sleek, loose-loop ponytails at Palmer Harding is the exception to the rule.

As stylist Stephen Low explains, “the detail lies in the ‘snakeskin shine’” achieved with L’Oréal Professionel’s Control Cream. Or in a pinch, with the help of a sudden downpour.

Sports stockings

The knee-high tube sock got seriously sexy at Roland Mouret, where crochet stockings with sporty trims peeked out from the splits of skirts and were worn with strappy sandals.

No Dad trainers here, please.
