A new highly anticipated McDonald's product has hit the shelves for the first time in the UK. Fans of the fast-food chain are ecstatic to try the new Grimace Milkshake in their stores after its popular debut in Canada and the US but it will only be available for a short time.

The Grimace Milkshake was first sold at McDonald's restaurants in the US last July, before then being introduced in Canada in May 2024 for a short time, reports the Mirror. Milkshake lovers will be able to get their hands on the Grimace shake across all of McDonald's 1,450 restaurants from August 28 and will also be able to order it online, through McDelivery, UberEats and Deliveroo.

The milkshake is inspired by the iconic purple McDonald’s character Grimace and is made by mixing blueberry syrup and a creamy milkshake base. It is priced at £2.69 for a medium size, or £2.99 for a large. The Grimace Milkshake is one of many products launched to celebrate 50 years of McDonald’s in the UK.

However, you don't have long to give it a go as the shake will only be available for one week, leaving UK McDonald's menus on Tuesday, September 3. McDonald's fans from across the country have taken to social media to share their thoughts on the new menu item.

One user on X, formerly Twitter, said the shake was "stunning" adding: "I don’t want it to ever leave, I'm going to have to get every day if it's going next week."

Another said: "That purple milkshake from Maccers absolutely bangs!!! #Grimace".

A third shared: "@McDonaldsUK could at least put the Grimace blueberry milkshake in an unlimited cup for people to keep for memories."

A fourth said: "Had a grimace shake from Macdonald's today. It was actually pretty good can't believe it's only here a week."

Another fan urged the fast food chain to make it a regular. They said: "@McDonaldsUK please for the love of all that is holy keep the Grimace Shake around permanently".
