Highly-rated Welsh youngster Macs Page continued his stunning start to the season with a try after just 14 seconds in the Scarlets' derby against Cardiff.

Having crossed for a brilliant solo try in his first United Rugby Championship start last week against Benetton, the 19-year-old wasted little time in troubling the scorers at Parc y Scarlets on Saturday.

The rapid score came after Cardiff centre Ben Thomas' kick-off had been taken superbly in the air by Scarlets wing Tom Rogers.

Breaking away out of his own half, Rogers tried to kick ahead, only for his chip to ricochet off Cardiff full-back Cameron Winnett.

Thankfully for the Scarlets, the ball went straight into the hands of Page - with the young centre racing away for a 40-metre run-in.

Afterwards, there was a bit of pushing and shoving between the two sides - with Wales' summer fly-half Thomas taking issue with a needless shove from opposite number Johnny Williams.

However, all that mattered little to Page, having just made another big impact in his short professional career.

Page's performances for Llandovery and Wales U20s have seen him tipped for a big future in the game, with Wales U20s coach Richard Whiffin having predicted he'd make an impact early on this season while speaking to WalesOnline before the campaign kicked off.

Clearly, with his latest intervention, the former swansea-city-fc>Swansea City academy product is living up to that prediction.
