Highway resurfacing project starting soon in Pike County

TROY, Ala (WDHN) — The Alabama Department of Transportation will soon begin a resurfacing project on Highway 29 in Troy.

While an exact date for the project’s start has not been released, road sign installation began on Wednesday, March 20, in preparation for the work. Work will start after all the signs are installed.

The work will consist of planning and resurfacing Highway 29 from north of the Highway 231 overpass to Needmore Road.

Lanes on the highway are expected to be closed throughout the project; drivers should account for delays and be mindful of workers.

The $1.6 million project is expected to be completed by summer 2024.
