Highways officials have laid out a timetable of works which has seen a town centre road closed off. Crews are currently in the heart of Kidsgrove where a key route is being fixed.

Staffordshire County Council is set to be on Liverpool Road for two weeks to complete the project. But motorists had been left querying the timetable of the programme and how far down the busy road it will stretch.

StokeonTrentLive has contacted the local authority over the scheme to ask for clarification over how long the closures will be in place. The local authority has confirmed that 'improvement work including surfacing and patching' will run until November 15 all the way from Mount Road '100 metres past' Gloucester Road'.

The council has said works will be carried out in 'sectioned closures and using temporary lights where possible' in an effort to minimise disruption. The works currently going on between Mount Road and The Avenue will be completed tomorrow (November 7). They will then focus on the stretch from The Avenue to Gloucester Road on Friday.

A spokesperson added: "It’s hoped patching will be completed on Monday, with ironwork improvement continuing for the rest of the week."
