Hikers Jump Into River to Escape Forest Fire Near Venice
A fire broke out in the pine forest of Bibione, Italy, on July 15, according to fire brigade officials from the region.
According to local media reports, eight hikers were forced to jump into the Tagliamento river to escape the increasing flames and smoke that trapped them. They were later rescued by the Port Authority of Lignano and were not injured.
