Hilaria Baldwin says it's 'not fair' to be criticised for employing a nanny

Hilaria Baldwin has hit out at those who’ve criticised her for employing a nanny to help look after her children.

The 36-year-old is parent to the four children she shares with Alec Baldwin, sons Romeo, 2, Leonardo, 3, and Rafael, 5, and 6-year-old daughter Carmen.

Hilaria, who is currently expecting once more, appeared on the Mom School podcast where she discussed the jibes she'd received for having help.

She shared: "It's so interesting with the whole nanny conversation. People will write to you and say, 'Ugh, she has a nanny' — but that doesn't mean that you don't take care of your own kids. It literally means I am also working. I work every single day. And for people to make you feel badly about that is not fair."

The mother-of-four has shared that she and her family have "rented a place nearby" for a nanny to come and assist following a period of quarantine at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.

"Neither my family or Alec's family live close," she went on. "Right now, my youngest kids are 2, 3 and 4, and I have a 7-year-old. It is okay to accept help, and there is no shame that other people should give you because of that."

Last year, Hilaria sadly suffered two miscarriages within months of each other. In November following a pregnancy scan she shared to her Instagram that the baby girl she and Alec, 62, were expecting had tragically passed away.

In April Hilaria shared a touching post on what was the due date of her second daughter.

"Today was your due date and we wanted to meet you so much," she wrote on Instagram. "I have been afraid of this day to come—but it is here and I will be brave. You were so loved and you always will be.

"I think of you every day and I wish so much that our path had been different. Mommy loves you, my sweet girl."
