Hindu devotees perform rituals during the Chhath Puja festival on the banks of the Yamuna River covered in chemical foam caused due to industrial and domestic pollution in New Delhi, India on Wednesday, Nov. 10. Devotees stood knee-deep in frothy, toxic waters, sometimes even immersing themselves in the river for a holy dip to mark the festival.
