A historic Edinburgh pub is in search of new managers after a challenging year.

The Cramond Inn perfectly looks out over the Firth of Forth and is a much-loved pub for locals, with a beer garden ready for the rare Scottish sun.

After opening its doors in April 2023, the current owners shared they are beginning 'new chapters' and admitted on social media how it has been a challenging year and a half including three break-ins. Now the couple are looking for new management to take over the beloved pub.

As advertised on Gumtree, they are searching for a 'live-in joint management couple' to pass the baton onto.

The advert reads: "Live-in joint management couple required to run historic unspoilt pub in Cramond Village with open fires, garden overlooking Firth of Forth and Cramond Island, car park, serving drink and branded food menu including fully homemade Sunday roast."

They are salaried positions and rent and bills are covered. Of course, there will be no commute to work.

A post on the pub's Facebook page read: "Good morning everyone, just a wee update on what's happening moving forward. The pub is now down to low staff numbers, and only myself doing the kitchen.

"There will be days where the kitchen won't be open, but I am trying to get all the team trained so we can at least have chips, onion rings and soup on if I am not able to be on site. So there is an option of a nibble while having drinks.

"My aim is to keep the pub trading as much as possible, to get new managers to take over and build it again. If we ever have to close due to low staff or sick, I will keep it to a Tuesday."
