The Hit List: Everything you need to know about Marvin and Rochelle Humes' musical quiz

Prepare to have your music knowledge put to the test by husband and wife duo Rochelle and Marvin Humes.

The former pop stars are about to serve up the Saturday night TV quiz we never knew we needed – so it’s time to swat up on everything from pop to rock and blues and dance.

The aim of the game? Name the song and artist correctly and you’ve bagged yourself a cash prize.

Here’s everything you need to know:

Who is presenting?

Marvin and Rochelle Humes are more than qualified for the role having found fame with their vocals in JLS and The Saturdays respectively.

The duo, who share daughters Alaia-Mai and Valentina Raine, have previously worked together on Children in Need and had a brief stint on This Morning. They said: “We frequently put each other’s knowledge to the test at home, so we cannot wait to see how the contestants get on.”

How does it work?

Originally billed as Playlisters, the show will see three sets of pairs go head-to-head each week across three rounds.

The first quick-fire round is themed and requires contestants to hit their buzzers whenever they recognise a song. The first two teams to give five correct answers progress though to round two which is all about intros.

The two teams will be given visual clues as they work against the clock to recognise a song from its intro. The team that beats the clock will go through to The Final Chart Rundown where they will need to recognise 10 songs and artists before the money runs out. The £10,000 prize fund will drop down for every five seconds of track that is played.

When is it on?

The Hit List will debut on BBC One at 7:30pm on May 25. The remaining five episodes will air every Saturday after that.
