Yahoo News Is Hitman going to be the next big DC TV series?
The DC TV universe could be digging deep into the section of the vaults marked 'The '90s' in the future, as Geoff Johns has hinted that the character of Hitman could be making his way to screens.
Speaking at a DC event in Washington DC (see what they did there?), the entertainment company's Chief Creative Officer was asked by a fan about the possibility of the character making the transition.
"We are talking about Hitman," he reassured the fan, after making some vague statements about anything being possible (as reported by Comic Book Resources).
If you're not aware of DC's Hitman (nothing to do with the video game character Agent 47, who has appeared in some not-so-great movies), then let us give you a quick rundown.
Created in 1993 by Garth Ennis and John McCrea, the anti-hero also known as Tommy Monaghan was a contract killer living in Gotham City who gained the abilities of X-ray vision and low-level telepathy.
Becoming known as the Hitman, he took on the targets no-one else would: super-powered individuals.
Hitman had his own series beginning in 1996, which ended with the character's death. Despite biting the bucket, he has been a solid fan favourite.
A toned-down version of the character could easily appear in any of the Arrowverse shows, or perhaps DC are planning something darker'n'grittier featuring Hitman for their upcoming streaming service.
