HIghways bosses say there is a risk of 'hoar frost' across Warwickshire as temperatures plummet. They say that the minimum road temperature tonight (November 20) could be as low as -4.9C.

This the county council's highways team says could lead to a hoar frost. This can look like a dusting of snow and forms when the water vapour in the air comes into contact with solid surfaces that are already below freezing point.

With this in mind, the county's fleet of gritters are set to hit the roads at 7pm to try. This is to try and reduce the impact of the freezing temperatures.

There is an ice warning in place for other parts of the region tonight, but the cold weather is set to continue across Coventry and Warwickshire tomorrow. The Met Office has also forecast that there could be 'wintry showers' could return on Friday.

The latest forecast says that tomorrow is set to feel warmer than today and while there is the chance of wintry showers on Friday, it is set to turn increasingly sunny.

Wet and windy weather is forecast for the weekend and Met Office meteorologists have said that the weather is set to turn milder.
