Game of Thrones season six was filled with standout moments, but if there was one scene that broke our hearts, it was Hodor's demise.

But could Hodor ever return? What if he came back as, say, a White Walker?

Let's see what actor Kristian Nairn had to say when interviewed by the Belfast Telegraph.

"As a fan, I'm not sure I would love that," he said, in response to a question about whether or not he would be interested in returning as "an instrument of evil". "But as an actor, I would absolutely love that, and it would be so much fun to play that.

"But I kind of think it's nice the way it's left. There have been enough rebirth moments in Game of Thrones."

Is that a 'no', then? No White Walker Hodor?

"I'm just going to say no, but I might be lying," Nairn said. "I can't give anything away.

"I have let things slip before by accident, and I've learnt the hard way."

Interesting...

In the meantime, there is a bunch of speculation and discussion right now over who the Prince That Was Promised is.

A mysterious figure from the book series who is reborn from the mythic hero Azor Ahai, the Prince That Was Promised is destined to lead mankind in its war against darkness by wielding a sword known as the Lightbringer.

Is it Jaime Lannister? Jon Snow?

The writers will no doubt keep their cards close to the chests for the time being...

Game of Thrones returns to HBO on Sunday, July 16 and Monday, July 17 on Sky Atlantic in the UK.
