HBO has gathered its biggest stars together to do their best impressions of the channel's iconic 'chh-aaaahhh' static that opens all its shows (y'know the one), but the new teaser has unwittingly got our Hodor-related hopes up.

Showing us our Game of Thrones regulars in what seems to be their official season 7 outfits, HBO has also kindly thrown in Hodor (Kristian Nairn) for good measure.

Which can only beg one, very important question: is Hodor really returning to GoT for its penultimate season?!

To avoid the risk of Hodor breaking our hearts a second time round, we're going to say probably not on this one, but hey, we can dream.

As we wait (im)patiently for Thrones' latest season to begin this July, we've been passing the time by dissecting pretty much any kind of hint or clue we get about the show's next instalment.

The most recent actor to leave himself open to unnecessary levels of scrutiny was Iain Glen, who plays the lovesick and literally sick Ser Jorah Mormont.

Chatting to fan community Stuff, Iain appeared to inadvertently imply that Jorah is one of the lucky ones who manages to make it through season 7 unscathed.

"I've always enjoyed playing Jorah," he said. "It's been a role that's been good to me so far." (Note: "so far.")

"There's quite a high death count in Game of Thrones and they don't blanch at removing favourite characters. They just get rid of them in a brutal way.

"My end may well be close but so far I'm doing okay."

All will be revealed when Game of Thrones returns to HBO in the US on Sunday, July 16 at 9pm ET and at 2am on Monday, July 17 on Sky Atlantic in the UK.
