Holby City spoilers follow.

Believe it or not, we are nearly halfway through 2021 already – and it's time to have a look at all the Holby City drama still to come.

Looking ahead, it appears that the momentum will carry on throughout the next few months, as some of our favourites continue to be put through the wringer. Here's a look at some of the biggest stories still to come.

1. Horror for Fletch

Fletch is in for a bumpy ride over the next few weeks, as his daughter Evie gets caught up in the tangled web of Kian's chaos.

As Kian becomes increasingly desperate to keep Andrei safe, he makes a major mistake when he gets Evie involved too.

Fletch's world is soon turned upside down when he realises that Evie has been stabbed – alongside Andrei – with the show's spring trailer showing the pair fighting for their lives.

When further truths come to light, Fletch is left gunning for revenge on Kian, who he accuses of "leaving a trail of bodies" wherever he goes. But will Evie pull through? And what will happen to Kian if she doesn't?

2. Kian's story comes to a head

While Evie's fate remains to be seen, Kian's story will indeed come to a cataclysmic head over the summer months.

With Kian still determined to keep Andrei safe, Lucky is left in a dilemma when she's urged to inform social services what's been going on.

As Lucky grapples over what to do, Kian continues to make more worrying sacrifices – with life-changing consequences.

3. Ange and Josh are caught out

Ange and Josh will agree to 'exclusively date' in upcoming episodes, but trouble is lurking just around the corner.

When more of the team learn about their secret relationship, Ange finds herself in hot water over her unethical behaviour.

The spring trailer shows Ange being confronted by Hanssen over her relationship with a junior colleague. But is Ange willing to sacrifice her career for new lover Josh?

4. Max makes a life-changing decision

Max is one to watch over the coming months, as she's forced to make some life-altering decisions about her health.

Viewers have recently seen Max learn that she is a carrier of the BRCA gene, after her mum passed away from breast cancer.

The coming weeks will see a terrified Max contemplate her options, before ultimately deciding to have the preventative surgery. Louis grows concerned about his mum in the lead-up to the operation, but will his support be enough to support Max at the other side?

5. Dom's shock new move

As we've already revealed, fans are about to see a whole other side to Dom as he gets more manipulative than ever.

Dom has recently coerced Sacha into performing a risky – and highly unethical – stoma reversal on him, but what the devious doctor does next will surprise you.

Having decided to apply for the consultant's post, Dom unveils his next move – and it could be bad news for poor Sacha.

The show's spring trailer previewed Sacha being put on leave as a result of Dom's scheming, while Jeong looks set to get caught in the crossfire too. Has Dom been plotting revenge on Sacha all along?

6. Eli arrives!

Of course, one of the biggest moments coming up over the next few months is the arrival of Eli Ebrahimi– played by former EastEnders star Davood Ghadami.

While Kush may have met a tragic fate in Walford, actor Davood has simply popped across the corridor to the wards, where he will be playing the hospital's new Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon.

Described as "excitable, passionate, exploding with energy", Eli will be making his Holby debut in July – and you can get a first look here.

7. Max gets a blast from the past

Eli won't be the only new face on the wards as Max gets a blast from the past in future episodes.

As Max faces an uncertain future, she will be given something to smile about when Treve – played by former Hollyoaks star Karl Collins – turns up at the hospital. Can he support Max in her time of need?

Holby City airs on Tuesday evenings at 7.50pm on BBC One.
