Holby City's John Michie received GPS location of daughter's body via WhatsApp before driving through the night to find her

Holby City actor John Michie and his wife Carol are living through every parent’s worst nightmare after receiving the news that their daughter died at a music festival in Dorset on Monday.

Tragic details have now emerged of how John and Carol were informed of Louella’s disappearance in the middle of the night and received the location of her body via a map on WhatsApp, before racing 130 miles to be by her side.

The couple dashed from London to the south coast of England and followed a GPS location to woodlands in Lulworth Castle, though security staff reportedly refused to let them enter the Bestival site until a search was carried out.

Louella’s body was then discovered after they handed over the GPS location to staff.

A source told The Sun: “Louella’s parents turned up after midnight.

“They had driven down from London after getting a pin with a GPS location from the guy she was with.

“There had already been reports of a concern about the welfare of a woman but people had nowhere to look. John and Carol wanted to come in but they weren’t allowed so the location was handed over to staff.”

“They went to the spot and found Louella’s body. She was fully clothed. A man was taken away and was speaking to the police. No one knows what happened.”

A 28-year-old man from London has been arrested on suspicion of 25-year-old Louella’s murder and also on suspicion of the supply of Class A drugs, but John has since insisted that the accused is his daughter’s boyfriend and her death was a “tragic mistake”.

The heartbroken actor, who plays Holby CEO Guy Self, told The Sun: “We’ve lost our angel. It’s not murder – they were friends. It was just a tragic mistake, a tragic accident. This was not a murder. They were boyfriend and girlfriend.

“She touched so many lives. She was so very positive, so bright, so out there. She had such energy. The tributes to her have been incredible.”

And friends close to the family say the actor’s “world has been shattered” by his daughter’s death.

A family source told MailOnline: “No one can quite believe that Louella has gone. John and the family are struggling and are in tears. John said his world has been shattered. The whole family feel that way.

“It is just unreal. Louella’s brother and sister are in absolute pieces but they all think it is an accidental death.”

Earlier in the day, Michie’s agent confirmed the identity of Louella – a model, actor and dancer – and said the family needed privacy during this traumatic time.

In a statement, Michie’s agent said: “Sadly, I can confirm the tragic death of John Michie’s daughter, Louella, at Bestival.

“John and his wife Carol ask that the privacy of their family be respected at this traumatic time.”

The Dorset festival ran from Thursday to Sunday and was headlined by The xx, A Tribe Called Quest and the Pet Shop Boys.

Dorset Police said they had arrested a man “to enable officers to conduct an interview under caution to help establish the full circumstances”.

Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Derbyshire, of Dorset Police, said a post-mortem examination on Monday showed no clear signs of an assault, adding: “Detectives are working tirelessly to investigate the full circumstances surrounding this tragic death.

“A post mortem examination took place that was inconclusive and therefore we need to undertake a number of other examinations before we can establish why she died.

“The 28-year-old man arrested is in addition being interviewed on suspicion of supply of a controlled drug. He remains in custody today under caution in order to assist officers with the investigation. He was known to Louella.

Toxicology tests will be carried out on Louella’s body that will establish whether there were any substances in her system that contributed to her death.
