Holby City star Sian Reese-Williams has confirmed that she has exited the soap as Jodie Rodgers.

Last night's (February 16) episode saw Jodie sectioned after her unborn baby passed away as a result of her recent car accident.

The harrowing scenes saw Jodie beg Sacha to save the baby's life over her's, though events took a devastating turn in theatre.

Sian has now confirmed that the episode was her last as Jodie, writing on Twitter: "Thanks, Holby. I had an absolute blast."

Jodie returned to the fold recently, telling Sacha she was pregnant before refusing to accept help for a mental health condition.

Meanwhile, in other recent Holby news, star Laila Rouass has revealed that partner Ronnie O'Sullivan was turned down as a body double for a close-contact scene.

"They bring in somebody that's in your bubble and just cut away," she explained. "So I was like 'oh yeah Ronnie can come' and they looked at his pictures and they said 'no no, he's just too hairy – we're never going to be able to match them'.

"So he didn't come in in the end. I think it would have been nice to have him as a supporting artist."

Holby City continues on Tuesday, February 23 at 7.50pm on BBC One.
