Holby City's latest trailer confirms a surprise return in the NHS Improvement Director's seat.

Emerging on the medical soap's Instagram today (July 21), this footage from yesterday's instalment reiterates that Guy Henry's Henrik Hanssen will be relieved of his duties by the Care Quality Commission [CQC].

An accompanying caption states: "We'll be welcoming an old face back to Holby next week... any ideas who it could be?"

Mulling over the imminent arrival of Henrik's replacement, Max McGerry said to him: "Fletch has been telling anyone that will listen that it's someone we already know. I don't know if that's better or worse..."

With the smell of sweet reunion in the air, Holby City fans piled into the comment section with their own theories.

"Really hope it is Rosie [Marcel], although I doubt she will return due to time constraints with the dogs she rescues and her fabulous home renovations," noted one individual. "Jac [Naylor] deserves to be at the top as Holby bows out."

"Please be Anton Meyer or Nick Jordan!" added someone else. "Actually any one of the old cast members from back at the beginning to see us out would be fab!!!"

Two more soap lovers went on to reply: "I wish it was jac but think it could be connie [Beauchamp]" and "Jac or Serena [Campbell]? Would actually love to see both/either back."

Holby City continues next Tuesday (July 27) on BBC One.
