Holby City viewers rejoice as Jac Naylor survives

It was all systems go in tonight's (November 20) episode of Holby City as Guy Self made a surprise return in a bid to save Jac Naylor's life.

Professor John Gaskell's twisted handiwork left poor Jac in one hell of a state – keeping the hospital staff on pins, including a devastated Fletch – and many viewers saw the reappearance of Guy as a moment to celebrate.

On the outskirts of the life-saving action, Henrik Hanssen could be found wracked with guilt as he revisited the blood-splatted crime scene.

With the hospital team searching Gaskell's office for any clues to his crimes, Hanssen unearthed the professor's notes on how to combat the poison he'd administered to Jac. In this lightbulb moment, Jac's chances of survival increased dramatically.

With Mo also making a widely-celebrated return to the ward, Guy and his team managed to save Jac in a tense scene of nerve-shredding emotions.

And the crowd went wild.

As the episode drew to a close, Gaskell's corpse was found by police with Hanssen visiting the morgue for confirmation.

What happens next in Hanssen's storyline certainly looks set to be dark.
