Holby City's Ange Goddard revealed a shocking secret to Dom Copeland during tonight's episode (April 30) as she urged him to keep quiet about their real relationship.

Dom (David Ames) recently found out that Ange is his biological mum and that she'd put him for adoption when she was a teenager.

Initially devastated by the shocking news, Tuesday's episode saw Dom feeling more optimistic about building a proper relationship with Ange (Dawn Steele) and his half-sister Chloe (Amy Lennox), prompting him to propose that they go and see an upcoming exhibition together.

However, with Ange determined to keep the fact that Dom is her biological son a secret from Chloe and facing Dom's growing frustration with the situation, Ange opened up about a tragic moment in her past that she'd been keeping secret, revealing to Dom that she fell pregnant with Chloe after being raped.

Ange explained to Dom that Chloe might react badly to finding out that Ange had another child as the result of a relationship given that she's already aware of the circumstances she was conceived in.

A number of viewers watching at home were left devastated after finding out about Ange's experience.

This revelation marks the beginning of a dark time for Chloe as she is set to find out that Dom is her brother in next week's episode.

Holby is keeping a lot of the details secret for now, but the revelation about Dom and Ange will spark a downward spiral for Chloe as sad secrets from her past are revealed. Will Ange be able to support her?

Holby City airs on Tuesday nights at 8pm on BBC One.
