Former Holby City star Laila Rouass has revealed she has split from partner Ronnie O'Sullivan after 10 years together.

The Sahira Shah actress confirmed the sad news on social media, explaining in a brief tweet that they had "parted ways".

"After nearly ten years of love and memories, Ronnie & I have parted ways," she wrote. "Peace & love to you all Laila X".

Laila later reflected on the split in a follow-up post, where she thanked her followers for their supportive messages.

"The thing about break ups. It doesn't have to be a sad/hard time. It can be the beginning of new adventures & learnings," she said.

"Self compassion & manifesting a life without someone you love can still lead you to a place of joy. Thank u for your kind messages X".

Laila and snooker player Ronnie first started dating in 2012, before getting engaged in 2013 – however, they never tied the knot.

Just last year, Laila opened up about how Ronnie was turned down as a body double for a close-contact scene while filming Holby at the height of COVID-19 restrictions.

"What happens now is if you've got to touch somebody, like a patient, you've got to know them, they've got to be in your bubble," she explained on Saturday Kitchen.

"So they bring in somebody that's in your bubble and just cut away. So I was like 'Oh yeah Ronnie can come' and they looked at his pictures and they said 'No no, he's just too hairy – we're never going to be able to match them'.

"So he didn't come in in the end. I think it would have been fun to have him as a supporting artist. I think it's the Italian [in him]," Laila added.
