Holidays on the moon could be available within a decade - for £8,000
Forget Dubai, there could be a new holiday destination that’s even more dry and dusty within a decade – the moon!
Navid Jain of Moon Express says he hopes to be able to offer holidays on the moon within a decade, for just under £8,000.
Moon Express is the first private company granted a licence to land on the moon – and hopes to send its MX-1 lander to the moon with help from Tesla billionaire Elon Musk.
Moon Express hopes to send the coffee-table-sized lander to the moon – and pave the way for commercial missions to mine the lunar surface, as well as holidaymakers.

Jain said, ‘Elon will build the rocket and we do the rover. Essentially, he lays the cables and we do the last mile.
‘Mars is absolutely the right place to be ultimately. But (the) moon is the first training ground and the first stepping stone. At the end of the day, we would rather be a lunatic three days away than be a Martian six months away.
‘So I really believe the problems living on the moon are similar – the high radiation, vast temperature difference – and if we can solve that problem on the moon we can easily go on living on Mars after.’
