Hollande Speaks About Franco-German Relationship at Verdun Centenary Event

French President François Hollande spoke about the strength of the relationship between France and Germany at a joint appearance with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on May 29.

At a press conference in Verdun, where the centenary of the World War I Battle of Verdun was being marked, Hollande reportedly said that Merkel’s visit showed Verdun was a place not just of suffering but also of hope.
