Holly Willoughby annoys neighbours by flying Union Jack flag over home
This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby has annoyed locals by erecting a Union Jack flag over her £3m home.
Neighbours have said that this is not “BNP [British National Party] area” and that the patriotic flag does not fit in with the surroundings.
Her neighbours have apparently asked the star to remove the flag, with one telling the Daily Mirror: “We don’t hang the Union Jack or St George flag outside our properties, so why should she?
“It’s in one of the most desirable streets, we’re either Conservatives or Liberal Democrats in this area traditionally, not BNP.”
“It’s not really becoming of the area. The house is one of the oldest in the neighbourhood, and has a prominent tower.
“It’s never had a Union Jack on it before.”
Holly, 36, and her producer husband Dan Baldwin bought the six-bedroom Edwardian house back in 2011 for £2.8million, and this is not the first time that they have fallen out with their neighbours.
In fact, back in October the couple submitted a planning application for a two-storey building to be attached to their man house, however, the application was rejected after other residents complained that it would “compromise the character and appearance of the building”.
Another incident saw a neighbour send Holly and Dan a letter complaining that they had kept them awake with a party, however, Dan insisted that he and his wife were having a quiet night in watching TV on the date that the party had allegedly occurred.
Together, Holly and Dan are mum and dad to eight-year-old Harry, six-year-old Belle and two-year-old Chester.
The star’s spokesperson declined to comment on the latest neighbourhood drama.
