Holly Willoughby has added fuel to the fire by removing a reference to Phillip Schofield from her Twitter bio.

Rumours of a backstage feud between the Dancing on Ice and This Morning co-presenters went nuclear this week, as The Sun reported Willoughby and Schofield weren't on speaking terms away from the cameras.

In a subsequent statement, though, the latter described them as still "the best of friends" and that Willoughby was his "rock".

With a raised eyebrow, @MadameMinge wrote: "Didn't Holly's twitter bio say something about being introduced to Twitter by 'a legend' (ie Phil), now it's not there…"

"Loads of reports that they've both fallen out and don't talk anymore. Holly's also removed the mention of Phil," pointed out @footymadfan22.

It is not clear when this alteration was made, but upon visiting Willoughby's page we're now greeted with the words: "Broadcaster. Founder of Wyldemoon. Brand Ambassador for Marks & Spencer and Garnier. Author of Reflections."

Schofield's name has been in the headlines for the last couple of months, with the story of his younger brother Timothy's sexual assault of a young boy unfolding across the news sites.

The 54 year old was ultimately convicted of three counts of causing a child to watch sexual activity; three of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child; three of causing a child to engage in sexual activity, and two of sexual activity with a child.
