Holly Willoughby favourite to join Declan Donnelly on 'I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here'

This Morning’s Holly Willoughby is said to be the ‘frontrunner’ to replace Ant McPartlin on the forthcoming series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.

ITV confirmed that McPartlin would not be returning to the jungle for this year’s series and that a new presenter will be coming in to take his place alongside Declan Donnelly.

But according to The Sun, producers of This Morning are now negotiating a possible replacement for Willoughby on This Morning for the four-week stint.

A source said: “Holly is far and away the frontrunner and talks are at an advanced stage.

”Not only is she loved by ITV bosses and the nation, but she is also one of Ant’s closest friends.”

Bookmaker William Hill had placed Gogglebox star and former I’m A Celebrity winner Scarlett Moffatt as the odds-on favourite, along with the likes of Joe Swash, Vicky Pattison and Stacey Solomon, placing Willoughby at 10-1.

But Moffatt, along with other reported possible replacements Carolin Flack, Davina McCall and Stephen Mulhern have now been ‘ruled out’.

It follows news that McPartlin will be taking a year off work to deal with his problems with alcohol.

The presenter was convicted of drink driving in April, and fined £86,000.

He entered rehab following his conviction, after confirming that he would be taking a year off from his presenting duties on ITV shows like Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.

“My recovery is going very well and for that to continue having spoken to Dec and ITV, I have made the decision to take the rest of the year off,” he said.

“I’d like to thank both Dec and ITV for their continued support and I look forward to getting back to work in the new year.”
