This Morning's Holly Willoughby has finally shared the reason why she was absent from the show earlier this week.
The presenter wrote a message on her Instagram Stories to share the news that two of her children had COVID-19 symptoms – to stay within government guidelines, Holly and her family had to isolate while they awaited test results.
Holly said that all of the test results were negative and that her children are feeling better – she also thanked fans for their messages of concern and said that they can expect to see her live on the show on Monday.
The news comes after fans of the daytime TV show wondered why Holly wasn't presenting her usual slots.
The message on Holly's social media wrote: "Just wanted to say thank you for all your kind messages... over the last few days two of our children were unwell and had symptoms of COVID.
"In line with government guidelines we were waiting for results of the tests before I could return to work, couple that with just wanting to look after two poorly children, it meant having two days away from @thismorning.
"I chose not to alert everyone to this because my focus was on looking after them... thankfully all tests came back negative and everybody's feeling much better... see you Monday! Once again thank you for all the lovely messages..." Holly added.
In other This Morning news, Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford had an awkward moment on air yesterday, while Pointless host Richard Osman shared that Steven Spielberg was turning his recent book into a film.
This Morning airs on weekdays at 10am on ITV.
