Dancing on Ice latest: Holly Willoughby ‘mocks’ Gemma Collins after explosive rant at Jason Gardiner

Holly Willoughby appeared to mock Dancing on Ice contestant Gemma Collins after she slammed Jason Gardiner in an explosive live-rant.

Collins left viewers shocked after warning the Australian judge to “stop selling stories” on her.

Willoughby, who previously blasted the star on her “lack of professionalism”, couldn’t resist referencing Collins’ comments, when introducing the next act.

Introducing former Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton, Willoughby said: "Well it is time for the final skating star of the night and it's our Pussycat Doll.

“Let’s get the inside story as she skates to a song from West Side Story, nobody sold that story that's for sure."

Co-host Phillip Schofield struggled to hold back laughter as he continued with the introduction.

Viewers were quick to pick up on the remark branding it "TV gold."

One user said: "F*** me Holly didn't hold back on that dig at Gemma Collins #DancingonIce."

Another commented: "@Schofe and @hollywills just made my week! Phil trying not to laugh then Holly coming out with an not so obvious dig was tv gold! Sod Ant & Dec, they should win an NTA for best presenters! #DancingOnIce."

A third added: "Loved Holly’s little dig at Gemma Collins!! #DancingonIce."

The remark comes after Gardiner declared Collins “lazy and mediocre” in an interview following her first performance of Beyonce’s Crazy in Love on the show.

He then went on to score Collins a mere three points on Sunday night, criticising the star for her “lack of elegance”.

He said: “Gemma I know you were channelling Marilyn but we ended up with Anna Nicole Smith that was because there wasn’t any elegance. She’s a woman that’s in control of her femininity, you were all over the place.

“You need to up the anti because we’re not going to see any big lifts from you we’re not going to get any impressive moves.”

But Collins was quick to blast the judge: “Can I just say one thing? Maybe if you didn’t sell stories on me, maybe I wouldn’t have been so upset this week. So take that. Boring. Next. Don’t sell stories on me. Don’t sell stories on me. Please don’t sell stories on me.”

Last week, Willoughby made headlines after she slammed Collins’ “diva” behaviour on the show after she supposedly went missing backstage.

An unimpressed Willoughby condoned her behaviour, telling This Morning viewers: “I love Gemma, I'm a big fan of hers and I love her on the show.

“But I do think there has to be a bit of professionalism that comes into any work you do, just a bit of pride in your work.”

Collins has since revealed she is “still waiting” for an apology from the co-star that “lied” about her disappearing after the show.

Dancing on Ice continues Sunday on ITV at 6pm
