Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield 'will take SEVEN WEEK summer break from This Morning'

This Morning’s Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield are reportedly set to take an extended summer break from This Morning.

The much-loved presenting duo will be absent from screens for almost two months, The Sun reports.

The paper suggests that Willoughby and Schofield will present their last show tomorrow, despite not usually appearing on the Friday edition of This Morning, before heading off on holiday.

It is believed that they will be off work until the first week of September, giving them a break of over seven weeks to coincide with the school summer holidays.

Standard Online has contacted ITV for further comment.

Willoughby alluded to her impending break from work in an Instagram post shared earlier today, in which she revealed that she was “getting slightly giddy that this is our penultimate show of the summer!”

The Sun reports that Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford are expected to cover Willoughby and Schofield’s holiday. The married couple present the Friday edition of the programme each week, though Langsford has missed recent shows following the death of her older sister.

Other stars to recently take on This Morning presenting duties include Rylan Clark-Neal, who recently stood in for Langsford after her bereavement, and Rochelle Humes, who hosted the show while Willoughby was in Australia for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here last year.

Former TOWIE star Mark Wright and I’m A Celebrity alumni John Barrowman and Emily Atack have also presented the show this year.

This Morning airs weekdays from 10.30am on ITV.
