Holly Willoughby set to 'replace Ant McPartlin on I'm A Celebrity' after he checks into rehab

Holly Willoughby could be in line to replace Ant McPartlin on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

The This Morning presenter is reportedly favourite to step into Ant’s shoes and host the popular show alongside Declan Donnelly while Ant receives treatment for an alcohol and prescription pill addiction.

While Ant hasn’t officially pulled out of presenting the show with his on-screen partner, ITV has given him the option of taking a year off work so he can recover fully.

According to the Star On Sunday, Holly could be whisked off for the six week stint in Australia with her whole family, husband Dan and their kids Harry, Belle and two-year-old Chester, in tow.

‘I’m a Celeb is ITV’s biggest show of the year so they’re keen to get a plan in place should Ant want to continue his down time,’ an insider told the newspaper.

‘Holly is the number one choice, she’s the nation’s favourite and already a huge fan of the show.’

The source added: ‘Building on-screen chemistry and relationships is what Holly does best, which is perfect for the jungle.’

While Holly is said to be ITV’s favourite choice for Ant’s replacement, other names have been thrown into the mix.

Love Island host Caroline Flack, Queen of the Jungle Scarlett Moffatt, former I’m A Celeb star Mark Wright – and even Leigh Francis, best known for his comic persona Keith Lemon.

But if Holly does take up the offer, who will keep Philip Schofield company on the This Morning sofa?

Meanwhile, Ant is three weeks into his two-month stay in rehab to recover from an addiction to booze and Tramadol to deal with a knee injury made worse by botched surgery two years ago.

In a statement, the 41-year-old presenter admitted he was “truly sorry” for letting his friends and family down.
